Deconfined quantum critical point with nonlocality

The deconfined quantum critical point (DQCP) between the N\'eel and valence bond solid order was originally proposed in spin systems with a local Hamiltonian. In last few years analogs of DQCPs nonlocal interactions have been explored, which can lead to rich possibilities. either arise from an instantaneous long-range interaction Hamiltonian, or gapless modes that reside one higher spatial dimension. Here, we consider another mechanism generating by coupling DQCP ``hot spots'' Fermi surface. We demonstrate at least within substantial energy window, physics is controlled new fixed dynamical exponent $z>1$.

Vector boson excitations near deconfined quantum critical points.

We show that the Néel states of two-dimensional antiferromagnets have low energy vector boson excitations in the vicinity of deconfined quantum critical points. We compute the universal damping of these excitations arising from spin-wave emission. Detection of such a vector boson will demonstrate the existence of emergent topological gauge excitations in a quantum spin system.
